Creating Awareness & Making a Difference
Global Assistance for Healthy Kidneys Initiative (GAHKI) is one of the frontline, Nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) which raise funds from its programs and activities and channel such funds to subsidize the cost of dialysis borne by patients. It has a network of partners, sponsors and volunteers who spend their time and resources for the cause. We create awareness and draw global attention to the plight of disadvantaged kidney patients dying of the disease in Nigeria and indeed Africa. We have a global vision to partner with organizations who share in our ideals to reach out to sufferers of the disease throughout Africa. We have offices in Nigeria and United States of America.
Global Assistance for Healthy Kidney Initiative (GAHKI)
Chronic Kidney Disease affects 10% of the population worldwide and more than 80% of all patients who receive treatment for kidney failure are in affluent counties with access to quality health care leaving millions to die each year because of the physical and financial constraints of getting the affordable treatment necessary.
Financially disadvantaged Kidney patients either have to deal with catastrophic medical bills or do not have access to adequate facilities and treatments needed for their condition leaving them at the risk of death
Global Assistance for Healthy Kidney Initiative (GHAKI) was thus founded to help address the underlying challenges kidney patients face through organizing programs that will aid prevention, early detection, advocacy and also provide financial support for treatment so patients regardless of their age, social class or location, can live their best life possible despite their condition.
